The University Of Auckland in New Zealand is looking for a full time Lecturer in Mathematics Education. The position is intended for candidates with a PhD or equivalent in Mathematics Education, Learning and Cognitive Science, or similar field. Applicants will be expected to teach mathematics at the undergraduate level—hence, a strong mathematics background, evidenced by the equivalent of a Masters or Honours Undergraduate degree in mathematical sciences, is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in research in Mathematics Education and will exemplify excellence in the teaching of mathematics at undergraduate or senior secondary school level. Evidence of high-quality research and teaching will be necessary, including a high-quality publication record commensurate with the time since doctoral completion. Evidence of the ability to attract grant. The position would be available to begin in Semester 2, 2016, however the realistic anticipation is for the successful applicant to begin from the end of 2016 through to 2017.
