Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Number Theory, Cryptography, Computational Algebraic Geometry & Combinatorics @ ANU, Canberra

The Mathematical Sciences Institute at the Australian National University is seeking to invigorate its research and teaching profile in the areas of number theory (analytic, algebraic and computational), cryptography (classical and quantum), computational algebraic geometry and/or combinatorics. We wish to fill a full-time, continuing position at the Academic Level B or Level C (which equates to the position of Associate Professor within the United States of America). The MSI is strongly committed to improving the gender balance amongst staff and students.  Women are strongly encouraged to apply.

In 2018, the Mathematical Sciences Institute will be moving into a new building together with the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), an intelligence agency in the Australian Government Department of Defence, and the Research School of Computer Science (RSCS). This offers exciting possibilities to start, and expand on, interdisciplinary activities and collaborations with our colleagues in ASD and RSCS.  This current position is created in part to support these activities, in particular with ASD.

Applications close: 26 October 2016.
