A unique opportunity has opened at the School of Science, Edith Cowan University, for a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher in the field of Bioinformatics, Biostatistics and Machine Learning to help drive forward the new Centre for Integrative Metabolomics & Computational Biology research facility.
We are seeking to employ a research fellow with a PhD in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Chemometrics, Machine Learning, or related discipline, preferably with a track record in Metabolomics research. The successful applicant will primarily be employed to develop novel data mining algorithms, cheminformatic workflows, and work as the principal biostatistician for an interdisciplinary team of metabolomics scientists employed on a wide range of research applications. The successful applicant will also lead the development of new multi-block strategies for combining ‘omic data from multiple systems-biology platforms. There will be significant opportunity for the successful applicant to develop their own research program, and lead research projects and grant applications. Applicants with a particular interest in feature selection, evolutionary computation, artificial neural networks, non-linear time-series analysis, and/or Bayesian networks are particularly encouraged to apply.
