Optimisation Researcher @ CSIRO Data61, Canberra

At the Optimisation research group of Data61, we use a combination of methods from Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence to solve a variety of discrete optimisation problems, but we tend to specialise in problems from the transport area. We are looking for a Research Scientist to join a small team, to develop methods and write code that will be used to solve these real problems.

You as the successful applicant will perform research as directed in an area of interest to the Optimisation Platforms and Applications team. The methods employed often make use of meta-heuristic local search including Large Neighbourhood Search, Variable Neighbourhood Search and Genetic algorithms. When appropriate we use Linear Programming, Integer Linear Programming techniques and Constraint Programming techniques and tools.

Applications close 9 April 2017.
