Learning Advisor @ MESH, Western Sydney Uni

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning Transformations) is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Learning Advisor to work in the Mathematics Education and Support Hub (MESH). The successful applicant will work with members of the MESH team to address the University priority of supporting the academic numeracy, mathematics and statistics development needs of students in the context of their disciplinary studies. Under the direction of the Head of MESH, the position will work closely with academic staff across the University to:

  • Support numeracy, basic mathematics and statistics in the curriculum and in Western Sydney University Schools;
  • Provide advice to Western Sydney University Schools to support and assist in strategic initiatives in the area of academic numeracy, basic mathematics and statistics;
  • Liaise with Deputy Deans and Directors of Academic Programs to identify strategies for providing academic numeracy, basic mathematics and statistics support to students across year levels.

The position requires skills for identifying strategies for improving curriculum and assessment and delivery to support students’ academic numeracy needs. The successful applicant will have experience in numeracy, mathematics or statistics education, a high degree of initiative, decision making and communication skills. Although the position will be based on Parramatta Campus, the position holder will be expected to travel to other campuses in the course of their work.
