Western Sydney University is hosting a free First Year in Maths NSW (FYiMaths NSW) one day workshop on Monday the 11th of December, 2017. Note that this workshop is scheduled for the day before this year’s AustMS conference begins. You will have received an email recently about the Maths Education section of the conference which you might also be interested in attending. The theme for the day is
Statistical Knowledge: How is the role of statistics changing in the first year curriculum?
The day is for those involved in mathematics teaching at first year tertiary level and/or high school. We hope that the workshop will be NESA accredited.
Date: MONDAY the 11th of December, 2017
Time: 10am to 5pm (arrive 9:30 for tea, coffee and networking).
Venue: Western Sydney University, Parramatta South campus, Victoria Rd Rydalmere.
Presentations are invited from interested participants. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to present. For scheduling purposes, please let us know by December 1 if you would like to present and include a working title for your presentation. Presentations may address the theme of the day or other topics of interest to educators at the first year university level.
