Dear FYiMaths Colleagues
It is with great sadness that I write this post to tell you that our colleague Leon Poladian has passed away.
As many of you will know, Leon made a significant contribution to tertiary mathematics education through his involvement with FYiMaths, his leadership in the National Mathematics Summer School, through establishing connections with education colleagues at the University of Sydney, and of course through his teaching of many thousands of students.
We will all remember Leon in different ways, but when I think of him the words that come to mind are dedicated, passionate, quirky, funny, brilliant, forthright, great dancer, friend.
If you are able to attend Leon’s funeral the details are:
Camelia Chapel Macquarie Park Cemetery & Crematorium (MPCC)

The pedestrian gate on Delhi Road (below) opposite the train station is OPEN during cemetery hours.
There is ample on-site parking.
This website has a map of the cemetery.
Leon requested that in lieu of flowers a donation in his name could be sent to
The Chris O’Brien Lifehouse
The Lifehouse took great care of Leon in the final stages of his illness.
