Unfortunately we have to postpone the forum on Problem-Based Learning that was scheduled for 24-25 November. This is due to a number of factors including the availability of keynote speakers.
We’re aiming for this forum to be informative and interesting, and to motivate participants to explore the possibility of using problem-based learning in their own institutes. We feel that this issue deserves a high quality forum, which we now plan to hold on Thursday 9 February 2017.
However, if you were already planning to come to Sydney for the forum, we encourage you to attend the workshop organised by the NSW FYiMaths group, which will be held on Thursday 24 November. This workshop will be on the theme of Feedback & Assessment. For more information please contact Jonathan Kress .
Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you, and we hope to see you in February.

FYiMaths will soon be holding a forum on Problem-Based Learning in mathematics.
Have you ever wanted to include more problem-based learning in your units, but didn’t know how?
We will showcase current examples of how this is being done, and discuss how it can develop graduate skills. We’ll hear from industry representatives on what they value about maths graduates (and what they feel is missing).
There will also be opportunities to ask the experts about the pitfalls and benefits of PBL.
When: 24-25 November
Where: University of Sydney, NSW
Sponsored by the Australian Council of Deans of Science
A call for submissions will follow shortly.
