Job- Learning and Teaching Innovation Research Assistant @ The University Of Melbourne, Melbourne 

Melbourne University’s School of Mathematics and Statistics is searching for a Learning and Teaching Innovation Research Assistant. The School of Mathematics and Statistics is establishing a Learning and Teaching Innovation Group, whose focus will be to 1) develop innovative teaching methods to enhance students’ learning, 2) explore the possible inclusion of technology in existing subjects, if appropriate, 3) conduct evidence based research of the effectiveness of teaching practices, and 4) develop collaborative learning and teaching projects with the broader mathematical community. The successful applicant will need to be an Academic Specialist and will need to have experience and an interest in mathematics.

RMIT University is searching for a Deputy Dean of Learning and Teaching for their School of Science. The newly created Deputy Dean, Learning and Teaching role is accountable for leading and developing the learning and teaching culture of the School by providing strategic and scholarly leadership for all learning and teaching activities, fostering innovation and best practice in learning and teaching, leading the School to deliver on its learning and teaching targets in line with College strategy, and leading targeted, relevant student academic support initiatives. In order to be considered for this position, the applicant will need tertiary qualifications including a PhD in a relevant area.

The Australian Conference on Science and Mathematics Education (The 22nd UniServe Science Conference) is an opportunity for tertiary science and mathematics educators to share ideas and keep up to date. This conference will encompass biological sciences, chemistry, geosciences, health sciences, information technology, learning and cognitive sciences, mathematics and statistics, molecular and microbial sciences, physics and psychology as well as the various fields of the applied sciences.

7-9 August 2016 ACER Research Conference- Improving STEM Learning. What will it take? Brisbane

ACER’s (Australian Council for Education Research) Research Conference 2016 will be centred around the importance of STEM learning in schools. Australian students decline in science and mathematics, as well as the decline in STEM study in high school, the shortage of highly qualified STEM teachers and curriculum challenges and other relevant topics will also be explored throughout.
