Melbourne University’s School of Mathematics and Statistics is searching for a Learning and Teaching Innovation Research Assistant. The School of Mathematics and Statistics is establishing a Learning and Teaching Innovation Group, whose focus will be to 1) develop innovative teaching methods to enhance students’ learning, 2) explore the possible inclusion of technology in existing subjects, if appropriate, 3) conduct evidence based research of the effectiveness of teaching practices, and 4) develop collaborative learning and teaching projects with the broader mathematical community. The successful applicant will need to be an Academic Specialist and will need to have experience and an interest in mathematics.

The University of Tasmania is offering two separate positions for a Deputy Director, Research and a Deputy Director, Aspiration and Attainment at The Peter Underwood Centre for Educational Attainment, a joint initiative of the University of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Government. The Deputy Director, Research will lead programs of research that address significant societal questions, facilitate transformational change, inform policy and practice, and underpin improvements in key areas of education attainment. The Deputy Director, Aspiration and Attainment will lead and direct a suite of programs that facilitates increased numbers of young Tasmanians aspiring to and succeeding at higher levels of education. The programs are aligned with the University’s schools engagement and social inclusion plans, and operate in association with government, non-government and industry sectors. The Deputy Director, Aspiration and Attainment will also conduct research that measures program impact and informs new initiatives and policy.
